Tom came to Galaxy Sport as a professional rugby player with a good understanding of money, but without a clear strategy for turning his income into long-term assets.
Together, we created a plan focused on property, savings and debt reduction, with an initial goal of building a three-property portfolio that could be paid down by the time Tom retired from professional rugby.
THE PLAN
Through Galaxy Sport’s Property Buyers Agency, we secured Tom’s first two investment properties in different locations with strong economic drivers — using just $15,000 in deposit funds to get the strategy underway.
The results reinforced the value of looking beyond your backyard for the right investment opportunities. By completion, Tom’s first property had increased approximately $160,000 in value, while his second had grown by around $150,000 from its original purchase price.
THE RESULT
Then life changed — and so did the plan.
With a new Rugby Australia contract and two beautiful toddlers now part of the family, Tom’s priorities began shifting towards what life after football could look like.
Rather than simply chasing the original goal of three investment properties, we’re now exploring a future property that could play a much bigger role in Tom and his family’s next chapter.
